Honesty is the best policy

How is that so

When everybody lies constantly

Consistent mistreatment

Of another person's feelings

Is unfair to everybody

Especially those in commitment

Honesty burns holes in our foes

And defines the TRUE soul

It shines light where lies cannot go

Righting what wrongs have been done

Creating space for truth to blossom

Honesty is life in progress

Lies are people in distress

We lie so much that truth hurts now

But nobody likes pain

Even those who have so much to gain

Will lie because of shame

One truth can burn bridges of lies

One truth can crumble facades

One truth can set me free

One truth is all there will ever be.
